L-O-V-E it! Just look at the little cuteness on that gigantic stump. This is such a great picture Carrie… and I always love your poems.
Thank you Shane! I love this photograph too. It is going in a frame once we get more settled here. This forest is just minutes from our new location. Every time we venture in, it is a great adventure 🙂
Truly lovely! Even your image is poetic ❤
Thank you! Poetic photography, I love it. Photographs do tell their stories, to me, in poems. I am so happy to hear you see it too 🙂
That looks like our CA landscape. We live hear the giant Sequoias. 🙂
Ahh beautiful place to live. This image was taken at Arcata Community Forest. On the northern coast of California. My family just relocated to this area about a month ago, we love it!
We just went through there on Vacation last fall. I did a series called the Accidental Vacation about our trip.
Cool! I’ll look for it, I love it here, we just moved here about two months ago. Seeing my boys wander among the trees is such a special thing!
It’s a gorgeous area. I’m sure you will love being there.
Lovely photo, Carrie. The little boy really does look small amongst all those tall trees. That stump looks huge, I wonder how on earth did he climb up there. Great poem to go along with the photo as well, well done 🙂
Hi Mabel, thank you for taking the time to comment. That little boy is mine, he is 4 yrs old and loves to climb and explore. He is quite an adventurer and hiker, even so young. There is a way to get up the stump on the back-side that isn’t too difficult.
I loved that I had the opportunity to capture this moment, where he made his way out to the edge and took in the view, kids are incredible at experiencing the moment.
Your boy sounds like a brave kid, going out exploring like that. He sure knows how to keep himself occupied and have fun. Kids will be kids, living in the moment. Every small thing makes them happy 🙂
So true Mabel 🙂
