WPC- Waiting

Up with only a hint
of light we all spring from our sleeping bags
we made a pact the night before
we would be up before the sun
we grabbed warm hats the cook stove some tea

WPC: Ooh, Shiny!

It used to be the tiniest
flower sweetly waiting for someone
to notice her
with details exploding and my nose pressed

close breath held lens fixed and so much
to notice but lately my eyes have found
themselves distracted by something

small details waiting discoveries ready

the winds change in the springtime and
her feet begin to wander
with her heart (more…)

is labored her patience dwindles each time I ask
and she often wonders if I am still listening through her complaints
her weathered rage do I still see her (more…)

WPC: Surprise

There is an element of surprise within
those who don’t fit in who bling
instead of blend
standing tall strong deep and wide unwilling to curve
to another with expectations instead they find their unique stride they wind
their own way offering a glimpse (more…)

WPC: Security

It goes both ways, trust, security, safety, our boys were leery of many dogs we met and yet they kept asking for a dog. We looked and looked going to the local shelter many weekends and then taking month long breaks since my boys acted so overwhelmed with the process. My husband and I were ready to take another long break from looking when a friend called and said we needed to come and meet a puppy. (more…)
