Weekly Photo Challenge: Silhouette

Just before we left to move north, we decided to spend a day at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles. My husband often talks about spending time there roaming the halls, marveling at the hand-painted backgrounds, mineral collection and enjoying himself as a boy.

This was our boys first trip to the museum. They enjoyed different aspects of the museum intrinsic to their individual personalities. The younger one had his mouth open to the floor when he saw the life-size fossil skeletons of dinosaurs as well as these life-like statues of his favorite animal at the zoo, “Billy”. My older son meticulously studied the background paintings of each display, just like his own Dad when he was younger. Their curiosity is remarkable. I am really glad we made this a priority in the midst of packing and last days of chaos.

This post is part of the Weekly Photo Challenge put on by WordPress. There are many talented folks who contribute to this challenge each week. You can find their interpretations of “Silhouette” HERE.

    1. 🙂 Well, they were real at one point I think. Most if not all of these animals are “stuffed” and donated by different organizations for display and educational purposes. Sad to know as an adult, Cool to see so close up as a child.

Please take a moment, comments encouraged.
