My husband and I recently spent a weekend away while my parents watched our boys. One of the places we explored was Oregon Caves National Monument in Cave Junction, OR. We toured the caves on a 90 minute guided tour and admired the structures, all build in the early 1930’s. The picture I chose for this month is of the Chateau, it is open from early May through Labor Day. We plan to go back to visit and possibly stay here this summer. My boys were ticked when they heard we went in a bat cave without them. (more…)
I was visiting a friend’s garden the other day and this cabbage caught my eye. I love the color palette and all the veins in purple. I felt a bit like a bunny getting into the leaves of this cabbage to find the best vantage point. A fun way to spend time in the sun with friends. (more…)
I find myself often reflecting on our beautiful Earth. Her gentle hues, deep winds and vast expressions all blended in constant motion and waiting for us to behold. It is actually part of the Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park and costs $8 (exact change only or check) to park. (more…)

We went to our favorite beach yesterday (College Cove just outside of Trinidad CA), there was an extra low tide in the morning. We found starfish, sea enemies, crabs, barnacles, muscles and many extra rocks to climb and explore. The clouds assembled near the end of our time there. We are fortunate to live so close to such rugged, wild yet accessible beauty. I chose to share scenic images from our experience for today. (more…)
Redwoods, they are majestic silent and massive. This particular beauty lives 8 feet from the back corner of my house. Its trunk is so massive there are two 250 ft. trees growing from it. Quite a place to spend time. Allowing worries to wander up into the treetops while a silent blanket of peace replaces them. I am thankful she watches over my home, my boys, my worries. So thankful.
