The softest of peach flavored shades
can not quiet the roar
of the waves pounding the shore drumming
deeply where you feel it in your chest, I want
I just drop to my knees
into the sand making myself stop
in the face of this beautiful roar

This was a very useful exercise, I posted on Thursday asking for some help with this image. I realize now, I was so fixed on the rocks and timing the wave splash that I didn’t pay attention to where they were in the frame. Oh, so much to learn… (more…)

Photographs taken in Moro Bay, California (**Click on the images for a full viewing). They are from the same general area. The first photograph is from the open ocean side of the sand dune protecting the inlet. The second photograph is from the highest point of the sand dune looking back at the inlet. There is about a 1/4 mile walk between these two photographs.
