Clam Beach, CA

Looking mysteriously north, over tree tops
The magic seaside confidently big, Pacific
Leaping and curious and daring and creative
     My adventure begins
Time to pack, I forgot how
Don't forget how to love you to shine
              All wonderful and sleep
              Red wild and wish
              Light stars and care
              Just you tonight to accept
                                and give
Others see fire and almost night and wish the mystery of their destiny would

It got louder and louder and I realized it was a mudflow from the steep cliff the road was cut from. Luckily there were lots of trees and bushes breaking its slide, I never saw it, just heard it.

Follow Up– Where to Crop?

This was a very useful exercise, I posted on Thursday asking for some help with this image. I realize now, I was so fixed on the rocks and timing the wave splash that I didn’t pay attention to where they were in the frame. Oh, so much to learn… (more…)

Weekly Photo Challenge: Gone, But Not Forgotten

As a family, we walked from our campsite to the boardwalk to see the sunset. The Ocean waves crashing, in then out building to swiftly come again. The light turning from bright daylight to softened tones of peach and blue. My boys energy slowing with each fallen inch of the sun. (more…)
