Spring

Shining down overwhelming
the darkness goosebumps raising frown lifting
eyes expanding beyond the ground
the spring time suffering is draining away
and in its place your vulnerable cleansed body (more…)

Radiant Bloom

And she waits in her radiance
softness and style she opens to the light, she holds still
until she can’t do anything else but let go lying deep
in the forest only becoming her most true wild self without any audience
except her own soul, she is enough
she is and she does, springing to life
as the sunlight grows stronger
through the springtime

Abstract Spring

Like a freshly born colt you wobble
with unused legs through the beginnings
of spring the sun so blinding you can hardly see
your eyes not use to direct contact
with its rays in many ways it all feels like too much so much
to do to feel to express to exchange to notice to expect to experience
a discombobulated mess of thought and anticipation blending
colors and winters depth freshness
bitter winds and just when you have an idea
how to move beyond (more…)

WPC: Dense

Seasonally prolific bursting fresh
purely blooming beauties cluster
with wonder softening anyone’s voice that draws
near all those winter thoughts a stuck heavy thick dense muck
becomes overrun with anticipation
scents of fresh air and longer days
a golden lit evening undeniable in its magical potential to churn you (more…)

A Shifting Season

There is a deepened sense
during these seasonal transitions sometimes

upon us heavier than expected and we are not ready
to carry such things there is a vulnerability a purity a weakening
taking place as we move between the familiar and the newly transforming (more…)

7 Day Nature Challenge/ Day 7

I’ve really enjoyed this challenge, a change of pace from my one photograph and poems. Here are more wonderful flowers from my neighbor’s yard. So much color and drama pouring out of these flowers. I could sit on the sidewalk and photograph them for hours. (more…)

Intimate Spring

I am drawn to
your vulnerability
pastel hues sun dripping rain
showers an outside awakening
calling from the window
to open to the freshness
cool damp breeze
softly touching every new leaf
now dancing
with the bees an undercurrent
of endless growth revving
Up everyone!
still in winter and asleep

It is hard to believe, but Monochrome Madness is almost at its second anniversary. This was my runner-up to the challenge for April “Up Close”, which happens to fall on the MMC anniversary. You will have to come back next Wednesday to see my entry. (more…)

WPC: Half-Light

Today, like every other day, we wake up empty
and frightened. Don’t open the door to the study
and begin reading. Take down a musical instrument.
Let the beauty we love be what we do.
There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.

-Rumi, beginning of Spring Giddiness

When spring comes, so does the light. It shines on those dreams that laid dormant through the winter, it offers a warm touch later in the evening. The light makes me see all the beautiful new details springing forth in the extra light and growth of spring. It is an exciting time and it is also a challenging time. (more…)
