WPC: Atop

Some places stretch the mind others inspire
the body to do more than we ever thought
we can
and when that place does both just ease
in and remember you are standing atop a pocket
where our Earth is giving
something you need to have
within you

Hidden

I’ve dreamed of you I’ve searched
I’ve longed to come across your weathered parts
to feel at home under your roof among the trees
around you that have taken root to see outside
your window panes all the beauty life and growth surrounding
in truth in wisdom in love with you protecting
us I’ve known this way this home this place (more…)

Dainty Dreams

Feeling the pull
to stand out away from the background
the everyday
routine fading my dreams blossoming
gaining flourishing unwavering still dainty and new
but oh so beautiful

Although summer’s pace is slow in thought it moves at a rapid trot, at least for me. In giving an effort to make the most of each of these longer days I am noticing so many moments of moving away from should and must dos into savoring the pocket of a moment for an extra long time. Sitting in, taking in, deeply moving through, it is opening my heart to the life I have always wanted to live and that is incredible. So incredible.

Wind Swept

The winds
blow even
when I ask them to stop
churning up the waters
within my heart
leaving behind traces of their path where they got caught
up in the past tracing
the journey
looking back I can instantly see how far
from the shore I have ventured
beyond

You know it is still springtime here as long as the winds blow fiercely. Just last week they died down and the fog now rolls in in the evening and stays through the morning blanketing the coast. Wind is a wild, unrelenting presence I can’t ignore. I’ve grown to enjoy it more as I’ve grown older. There is something magical about being moved by something I can’t actually see.
