WPC: Reflecting

Unlike the beginning and end
which are easily noticed and perfectly timed, the middle
of a mental, physical or emotional experience is rarely calculated
pinpointed measured-correctly embraced lined-up focused-on
no this is the point in the path
that is unplanned (more…)

WPC: Atop

Some places stretch the mind others inspire
the body to do more than we ever thought
we can
and when that place does both just ease
in and remember you are standing atop a pocket
where our Earth is giving
something you need to have
within you

MMC- Travel

And she walks
she climbs higher and higher she can’t help but notice
her thin breath the vast expanse
the calm in her step after remarkable step
she can travel beyond her limits
outstretched within the escape of her life
as she knows it and the one right in front of her
at the apex between her breath
coming and going she will glimpse at the truth
that she is the only one

Look

Take it all in the ugly
and the exquisite the wild
and the tame the vastness and the minuscule
it is all looking at you

roots into the sea under the ground stretching
beyond this planet into the unbridled universe (more…)

WPC: Quest

Hungry but this view
just distracting enough how many moments
are you awake
like this, how many more dawns will you see
how many more sunrises will you eagerly await
wrapped in a sleeping bag, mind quiet
enough to hear a soul growing leaning into
the wildness you adore how many more
days spent traveling by foot
carrying enough but not too much
careful my dearest don’t leave just yet
each silent embrace is important for you to wake up
just a little more
from the slumber of the past, keep walking
keep climbing keep sleeping
under the stars

Holding Me

Today as I sit I feel
as tall as a tree reaching my nose
to the sky seeing the glistening
outlines feeling the shaded sun ease
into my squinting eyes the softer light
warming my face hearing the trees holding space
now closing my eyes
instinctively this view expands into my dreams
my wide arms feeling
so much to hold or is this view beautifully
holding me
