College Cove

Tracks

Emotional tracks are never easy
to follow they wobble and clutch
question and borrow time
and again they pull me into the whir of what once was
old feelings just because
claws outstretched silent guard down with impatience
spreading thoughts of balance and breath retreating
carrying me away (more…)

Awakened Perch

There was nothing I could do
except get higher to see
as far as I could and feel
the Earth below me move flow crash suffer weather
uncover expand retract cover expose itself endlessly
my body braced solid secure my eyes darting
together taking in the power and stillness (more…)

WPC: Wanderlust

A wandering heart yearning for the next view
circling to what she always comes back to the thrill
of the wonder the excitement of new points of view
small details waiting discoveries ready
for their overturning her breath is held
as the anticipation builds knowing
the winds change in the springtime and
her feet begin to wander
with her heart (more…)

WPC: Wish

From the moment I knew
my body was growing you a wish
began to propagate within my heart a wish
that I knew I must pass on
to you, in no way could I buy speak make or bake
I couldn’t give to you or feel for you
no way to paint, explain, borrow or grow it
there it was and there were you
I see it finding a home within you I see you
doing what your heart tells you, learning

About all the animals of this planet finding
the highest point to get the best vantage point, I see you
opening your voice to the ocean waves
who gladly call back again and again you are small
but you are mighty wise to find your breath
within the Earth’s expansive skies to trust
your own body and what it feels to sense
that there is something beyond what you see
and most importantly you know that you can
find yourself when you are outside
uninhibited

** This post is part of the Weekly Photo Challenge, this weeks theme is “Wish”. You can find more entries, HERE. May we all find our own way to connect with ourselves when we are outside, uninhibited.

Solstice Gold

The final hour before winter is
official a golden blanket of warmth
tucking in the shadows the wilds still churn
a harmonizing rhythm where the earth and ocean wildly embrace
one another where mist jumps a hundred feet in the air
waves crash again and again (more…)
