More of This

Free to be with the clouds
and blue skies calming hearing
the aspen leaves quaking feeling the warm sun
inviting my eyes to close my breath
to slow my dreams to float and reshape themselves
into what needs to be in this moment this instance

Seeing Differently Challenge-15 of 15

And again it comes in waves and roughness
in quick and steady
there is no denying
no hiding it just is and so am I
knowing the winds will carry this
too by and by at some point but not today
and as long as I can recognize
the truth that I am not alright
but I am with love and alive
so I will be
I am okay with the view outside
in the brewing life fought storm

Holding Me

Today as I sit I feel
as tall as a tree reaching my nose
to the sky seeing the glistening
outlines feeling the shaded sun ease
into my squinting eyes the softer light
warming my face hearing the trees holding space
now closing my eyes
instinctively this view expands into my dreams
my wide arms feeling
so much to hold or is this view beautifully
holding me

Moody Madness

Our skies are beautifully moody, ever changing like a toddler.

In a day they go from clear to building to mesmerizing to churning…all within hours. Their dynamic expression painted for miles highlighted by peaking sun-rays. My everything pales in comparison to the beauty, breadth, and uniqueness of these viewing opportunities. (more…)

One Four Challenge- December wk 1

The challenge begins again. One image, over four weeks, processed four different ways. If you want to join in, go to Robyn’s blog Captivate Me for all the details. There are many of us participating, you can find Robyn’s week 1 process of December, HERE, as well as links to all the other participants in her comments section.

As I am writing this, I still have no idea what image I am going to choose. I am just getting back from a beautiful adventure with my family. We camped on the North Coast of California, about 2 1/2 hours south of where we live but it is still considered the North Coast. I am still in awe of all that we experienced. I think I will just close my eyes and chose an image, I don’t think I can go wrong.

Something Brewing

Arcata Bottoms, Arcata CA

The clouds were churning, collecting, amassing into a thick lid ready to close tight. I picked up my son from school and took a detour home. As I turned left, towards “the bottoms” I felt butterflies in my stomach. I was so excited to chase the clouds. I gave my boys, both wide-eyed in the backseat, a run down of my expectations. I wanted to photograph the clouds and maybe some farms too and I needed their cooperation. (more…)
