I struggled a bit for this final edit. After looking over the image for a long while I decided to emphasize the shadow side of the Chateau this week. I felt a black and white image was most appropriate for this week.
I cropped the image trying to keep the tree shadow on the left-hand line of thirds to provide somewhere for your eye to start. I brought this image into Silver Efex Pro 2 and chose the preset Full Dynamic (smooth). Then I adjusted brightness, structure and contrast a bit more. I adjusted the upper left corner with a control point to adjust the shadows and feel to blend with the rest of the image. I also selected the #13 toning effect to add a soft golden feel to the image.
This was a challenging photograph and fun to work on. I always look forward to your comments and feedback. Thank you for following my process this month. I will leave you with the original and all the edits in a gallery. If you wish, in the comments, specify which one you liked the most and why.
