A Quiet Relief

Cloudy skies close
my eyes bring tears
when none hold on
my own slow rocking
motion hearing nothing feeling
the warmth of my coat a quiet relief
glimpses at the sun
kissed distant horizon
standing here feeling
exposed yet close
to everything that means
anything to me
today

    1. Yes, those last words as they form are always interesting to see where they land at the end. Thank you, Janet. I was surprised by the depth and feeling of this poem. As you know, when I write these I just let the words flow instead of thinking too much about it. I was in a happy, free mood, personally but I guess my inner voice had the intention of bringing myself within!
