Take it slow today all
is moving so fast your heart
can’t keep you safe when
you are keeping
this pace
Pick berries
watch birds find your breath
Take small steps
with your boys hear
the sounds
made in harmony just for you
Let your feet feel
the dew
Warm your cheeks in the suns
light stand
Still for a while
it is just what you need
be very mindful of
your speed
Lovely poem, Carrie 😊.
Thank you, Pam! I find a slow summer pace to feel so nice 🙂
Me too!!
I’ve had a stressful day and reading this helped me feel more calm 🙂 I’ve just got to learn to focus on the things that matter and let go of the things that don’t…
Oh I am so happy to hear that, Miriam. Not about your stressful day of course, but happy to know these words gave you an opportunity to sit, still and learn what is ready for you to let go of today 🙂 Lovely.
Oh Carrie.. This is perfect!
I wrote this poem before we left for the marsh in the morning…not far from finishing our fun-filled berry picking, slow paced walk I found this orange, lovely ladybug and I just knew they were supposed to be together (the poem and photograph). I am so glad you agree 🙂
This post was my reward today. I accomplished many things that needed accomplishing, then decided to catch up with my blog friends and found your photograph and poem. I loved the message you found in them. Tomorrow I will be mindful of my speed.
Oh I would love to hear how being mindful allowed you to find, feel, see, touch, live, love, hope a little more tomorrow. It is a magical experience to let time go and give your heart permission to move at her speed. Enjoy!!
a perfect poem for summer!
Thanks so much, Cybele. Are you back from your trip? I hope it was as wonderful as you anticipated.
Summertime is an “at your heart’s speed” kind of season, I so agree!
I am and so missing Scotland and Ireland- also sick with some kind of bug!! 😦
thanks Carrie!! I go as often as I can as we still have relatives there and I feel so at home! If I could I would live there but sadly the expense and of course family here too !! (dream on)
