Weekly Photo Challenge: Inspiration

Fourteen years (unofficially seventeen
but whose counting) of love
and attention wandering
trails into the light
seeing
land curve and expand
watching our family grow
from babies into little
men sharing places we once walked
as two
now the four of us taking in the view
quietly allowing
what is right here
to soak into our bones
never to leave us
alone

** This post is part of the Weekly Photo Challenge (HERE), this week’s theme “Inspiration”. We were asked to share what inspires us and this image sums up most of what inspires me. The only thing missing are flowers. My boys, my husband, the sunlight, a trail, water, mountains, the color green and trees. Yes, they are all here. It is my 14th wedding anniversary tomorrow. That is inspiring too.

    1. You never really know (or at least I haven’t figured it out) how those rays are going to look until you get home. I was pleasantly surprised at their cascade. Thank you Gale.

  1. It’s magic in it’s own way, isn’t it? I’m often struck by the fact that making a life with someone actually works, despite all the reasons why it shouldn’t. Happy anniversary 🙂

  2. Carrie, I find all your photographs worthy of careful attention, but his one might be my favorite. It speaks directly to my experience and heart, captures my feelings when in the mountains. Wonderful.

    1. Ahh, thank you! In this case, it was a good thing I was left behind 🙂 I came across my family admiring the view after looking at some flowers. I love that we share the same sentiments, Janet. That feels so good!

    1. Thanks so much! I get so excited when lens flare presents itself. I am rather addicted to it 🙂 Sunbeams streaming over my family is remarkably inspirational!
