I have wanted to visit this flower garden next to our local zoo for a while now. When we were there the other day all the dahlias and a slew of others were in bloom.
I must admit, I don’t know if this flower is a dahlia or is something else. If you know, please let me know. I’ll share more of these images next week. This one is one of my favorites.
Gorgeous flower – thank you for brightening a gloomy day, Robynπ
Hi Chris, happy to know that. Wanted you to know it’s me, Carrie whose blog you are commenting on. Robyn started Flowers on Friday and I decided to copy her! She was more than kind with my following her π She has a marigold this Friday, beautiful for sure!
Oh sorry Carrie, but my comment is heartfelt. I should be more carefulπ
Oh it happens! No problem. I am happy you like it, there were so many marvelous flowers to chose from in this garden. Can’t wait to share more of them next week π
Carrie such a gorgeous rich flower for Friday π Beautiful!
I’m unsure of this flower, with it’s close crop. It does look dahlia-esq he he..
Maybe somebody will know.
Have a wonderful weekend π
Thank you, Robyn. I am so happy to know you enjoy it. The flow of the image really caught my attention. It is actually at it’s original composition, no crop this week. It could very well be a dahlia, there are so many varieties! Thanks for linking with my post, I really look forward to this post each week!
I love that you moved right in on this flower to take the image. The composition is lovely, as is the flower. I’ve never grown Dahlias, but they are so beautiful and yes so many varieties.
It is a fun post to look forward to π π
I just finished a lovely book called, “The Language of Flowers”. Dahlias mean, dignity. In the back of the book is a dictionary of many flowers with their one word meaning, I really enjoyed the book. Great story line, wonderful characters and great descriptions of flowers and food!
Sounds like a wonderful book Carrie. I might look for it myself as. I often wonderful about their meanings. Thank you π
I really loved the story, a fictional story but with wonderful flower and food descriptions…a win win for me π It’s fun to know their meaning! You are most welcome π
Thanks ππ
The photo is wonderful and I, too, loved The Language of Flowers.
Oh I love that you have read that book! It is so lovely. I just gave it to a friend. Can’t wait to get it back so I have the dictionary in the back π Thanks so much, Laurie.
