Clam Beach, McKinleyville CA
I felt a raindrop, on my cheek and my shoulder, the air temperature instantly sank colder. The sun was still out, for how long was unclear but I was purposefully alone and I wanted to be here. Perhaps I made it, just in time, between storms or perhaps I was about to get soaked.
The shadows of the deepening rain clouds drew a line in the sand, creeping ever closer to taking over, again. There were still pockets of blue, sun rays like strobe lights calling me closer. I continued, into the dunes, wondering if I would catch a glimpse of what the ocean shore looked like just before a rainstorm hits.

A beautiful picture with some very ominous shadows! 🙂
Thank you! Ominous indeed and yes, I did get rather wet…but it was worth seeing all that I did!
Beautiful photo and I love what you’ve written as well 🙂
Thank you! I love to write and capture moments like this one 🙂 I am so happy you enjoyed both aspects of this post, that is great to hear.
you’ve really captured the beauty here. I love the wooden path!
Thank you, Cybele. That line in the sky, between shadow and light was hard to step away from. I love wooden paths! 🙂
