Trinidad CA
I stood here for over 10 minutes, alone. My car parked just up the road on a tight curve. I stood in the middle of the road taking photograph after photograph of mother nature putting on a show. The ocean below singing in wave length tones. A few minutes into this incredible moment I heard a rustling from behind me. It got louder and louder and I realized it was a mudflow from the steep cliff the road was cut from. Luckily there were lots of trees and bushes breaking its slide, I never saw it, just heard it.
My ears were on high alert, cars don’t drive fast here, the road is to curvy. But, with the waves crashing below it would be hard to hear them. No one came, the entire time I was here, standing in the middle of the road. What luck.
I was just ahead of the rain, taking an hour to explore and I found this. This will do.
I love the blue skies! 🙂
Me too, happy the blue came out in the photograph, that is not always the case!
Stunning!
Well, thank you so much, Meho. Really. I feel so fortunate to live only a 10 min drive from this spot, what luck.
What a powerful image! Mother nature being awesome! The description of the almost silent mudflow, creeping up on you from behind, only intensifies the atmosphere in the photo.
Oh thank you for your comment 🙂 Yes, Mother Nature was surely showing off! I thought I was just going to do some recon for a better weather day, but I was drawn out of my car, instantly when I saw what was before me. The mudflow was crazy too. I really appreciate your kind words 🙂
Incredible! and by that I mean that you had the wonderful opportunity to stand there for 10 minutes and just bask in this beauty.
Gorgeous! and by that I mean your photo!
🙂 I was saying those expressive words, for the same reasons, in the moment!
I feel so fortunate to live where I do. Thank you, Laurie.
