Hammond Trail, McKinleyville CA
You sit and wait
For the tide
To turn where you
Are hidden once again, feeding
Until full others marvel at the beauty
Your barnacles, intricate
Miniature mountains reaching randomly
So delicate you shatter
With any pressure applied
Yet so strong, your grip
There is no way to remove you
From your chosen rock
You see sunsets, arguments
Dogs chasing sticks
Birds swarming, clouds forming
All you do is sit
The water glistens behind you
The sun sweeps
Through the sky
You are so small and brittle
Yet a lovely treasure
To find

Glad you found another great Barnacle shot that you could transform to B&W! It looks great!
Glad you noticed Sari 🙂 The other one didn’t quite work as well as this one. It was fun to work on! I sure learn a lot with Monochrome Madness.
Oh to be a barnacle 🙂 It makes me so happy to see you stepping so deeply into your immense talent…and to have such beauty dropped in my inbox regularly!
Thank you, Sylvia. 🙂 Your encouraging words are always a gift. Happy to hear you are enjoying my posts and word adventures. Thank you so much for reading.
