Arcata Bottoms, Arcata CA
Churning skies warning
Bird calls heavy
Shoulder weighing silence
The light losing
Better bundle everything
You love tight
**This post is part of Monochrome Madness put together by Leanne Cole and Laura Macky. This is a beautiful collection of images each week, I highly recommend wandering over to Leanne’s blog to check them out, HERE. (if this link isn’t live yet, come back, it will be later today)
Hi Carrie, great photo and poem, seems a big storm is coming, it’s scary!
Hi Elizabeth 🙂 I did a bit of storm chasing last week, I will post the rest of the photos soon here. The clouds here are incredible and there are big storms that blow through quickly. We are right on the Ocean now and I love getting the opportunity to watch the clouds move through everyday. It is remarkable. As for this storm, it didn’t amount to much more than some rain, it sure looked wicked when it started to set in though!
Love how ‘the shoulder weighing silence’ connects in imagery with the barn roof under the threatening skies !
Ahhh, love that you picked up on that 🙂 I love writing these poems and the way they come to me is after I have an image that I feel something about. It is fun to see where the words and photographs mix.
Thanks so much!
