Weekly Photo Challenge: Letters

This sign is mysteriously posted on a deep bend on the Chantry Flats trail, in the shade, blending in to the surroundings. The trail at this moment is steep, there are many things to look at other than this sign. If you are coming up the trail your head is down, you are most certainly out of breath, hands on your knees, ready for the hard work to finally be over. If you are on your way down the trail there are birds, trees, huge, steep mountains all asking for you to look them over, embrace your surroundings. Many who pass by don’t see it.

I have probably walked right past this sign at least 10 times. The first time I saw it I didn’t have my camera with me, I know, shame on me. I have passed it by several times since then, camera in hand but I couldn’t find the right frame of reference. I kept struggling to get beyond the words in the photograph. Yesterday, I took this photograph and found when I pointed the lens up towards the tree tops the photograph came to life, at least for me.

  1. As one who has hiked many a trail, I attest to the truth of the sign: a truth highlighted by your wisdom in capturing the tree tops in the photograph. Wonderful post.

    1. Thank you! Tree tops make me smile so much. Trails do too 🙂 I honestly reflect on these words every time I pass them by, such encouragement to walk my own path.

Please take a moment, comments encouraged.
